An object of this invention is to provide an improved construction whereby the guards may be re moved from the support for the lenses without removing the pivot pins on whlch the guards are mountedto turn, this removal being effected without the provlslon of any separate parts on the mounting.

To this and other ends the invention consists of certain parts and combinations of parts all of which will be hereinafter de scribed, the novel features being pointed out in the ppended claims. 1

The coil spring 15 surrounds the tubular portion 13 and has oneend 16 secured to the guard lever while the other end 17 bears against the support for the lenses.
