Description

J. R. CAZIER.
Improvement in Ironing-Tables.
No. 126,016. PatentedApril23,1872.

JOHN R. GAZIER, OF NORTH EAST, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN lRONlNG-TAB LES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 126,016, dated April 23, 1872.
a table, all of which will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure l is a perspective view of my ironingboard attached to a table, and Fig. 2 is an enlarged side view of one of the fastenin gs.
A represents an ordinary ironing-board, of any suitable construction, provided with a flange, B, along each side, as shown, said flanges being below the upper surface of the board. At the inner end of each flange B is attached a hook, O, which projects downward, and is of such size as to fit over the edge of a table, D, and thus hold the board A on the table. These hooks may be-permanently attached to the flanges B B, or to the board A when the flanges are not used; or they may be loose or separate from the board or flanges, and put on when needed. The lower end of each hook may have a swell or enlargement with female screw-threads for the passage of a set-screw, G, which may be turned up, and thus more firmly secure the ironing-board to the table.
The hooks, described at the inner end of the ironing-board, may be used equally as well at the sides of the table, when so desired, as shown by dotted lines in Fig. 1; and another similar fastening may be used, with or without the set-screw, at the other end of the flanges, or on the side near this end.
Having thus fully described my invention,
what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination, with a table, D, of the board A having flanges B B and hook-clamps O 0, all as and for the purposes set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I JOHN R. OAZIER. [L. 8.]
