To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ROBERT A. Gama, a citizen of the United States, and residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Music-Sheets with Varied Perforations, of which the following is a specification.

The figure of drawing is a view ilustrating my invention.

Combination use of slots and grouped perforations in music sheets are old in M. Gall #329,304, @ctober 1885, fore been made with the bridges between the perforations of each group for a single control, of minor length compared to the length of each perforation of the group, which secured only a small difference of air flow through the two styles of control openlugs, while in the present invention the music sheet 1 has each perforation 2 of a unit group 3 for efl'ecting one actuation, made of a length less than or substantially equal to any space or bridge a of the group, the area of each such perforation 2 of a unit group being less than or substantially equal to the area of a bridge 4 between two perforations of the group, estimating the area of such space or bridge as inscribed by two imaginary lines touching the outer edges of the perforations 2 of such a group 3. Vith this improved style of group 3 of perforations 2, the air flow therethrough is less than half that of a full slot 5 of the same width, as

each passes over the aperture of a tracker bar of a pneumatic music player, and thereby a great difference of control of the note striking device of a player piano or the like can be had without the trouble and expense of sheet perforating apparatus having two widths or sizes of punches, the present shown sheet 1 being produced with both styles 2 and 5 perforations made by the same single punch, either round or square.

The present improved style of a perfo rated music sheet is especially useful with note striking devices or other pneumatics adapted to a varied speed of action according to the amount of air supplied to their primaries, as in this applicants prior Patent- ,e7sa204, March 28, 1905, and #401,919, June 30, 1914:, and another application #198681, filed Sept. 28, 1917.

rations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to *ct a single actuation, each of the perforas of such a group having a lengthsubtially equal to the space between the said perforation and toe next perforation of the same group.

A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perform tions of such a group having a length substantially equal to the space between the said erforation and the next perforation of the same group, the width of the said slot perfo rations and the perforations of the said groups being substantially equal.

A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perforations of such a group having a length not greater than the space between the said per foration and the next perforation of the same group.

A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perforations of such a group having a length not greater than the space between the said per foration and the next perforation of the same group, the width of the said slot perforations and the perforations of the said groups being substantially equal.

A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perforations of such a group having an area substantially equal to the area of any one of the spaces between the perforations of that group inscribed within the width of the said perforations.

A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the oth 1 style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perfora tions of such group having an area substantially equal to the area of any one of the spaces between the perforations of that group inscribed within the width of the said perforations, the width of the said slot perforations and the perforations of the said groups being substantially equal.

7. A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perfortions of such a group having an area not greater than the area of any one of the spaces between the perforations of that group inscribed within the width of the said perforations.

S. A perforated music sheet having perforations therein arranged in longitudinal rows, the perforations of a row being of two styles, one style a continuous slot having a length greater than its width, and the other style, a group of perforations adapted to effect a single actuation, each of the perforations of such a group having an area not greater than the area of any one of the spaces between the perforations of that group inscribed within the width of the said perforations, the width of the said slot perforations and the perforations of the said groups being substantially equal.
