Description
P. MUELLER.
DRYING APPARATUS.
APPLICATION HLED JULY 30. 1915.
Patented Feb. 12, 1918.
RAUL MUELLER, 0F BERLIN, GEM.
onion.
Application filed July 30, 1915.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PAUL MUELLER, a sub .ject of the King of Prussia, and residing at Berlin, S. W., in the Kingdom of Prussia and German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in.Dry1ng Apparatus, of which the following is a spectime.
The object of my invention further is to providean apparatus adapted for use with a heating device or any heating agent and which will dry sheets uniformly and without damaging them.
' My inventlon is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein a perspective view of my new apparatus in its preferred construc-' may be placed smoothly over the said edge to hang both over the front board a and over the rear board an. Air holes 1' may be provided in the top of the side walls 0.
At the bottom a gas pipe 8 is mounted having its one end closed while the other end is provided with a valve 6 and a nipple u for the connection with a gas conduit, not shown. by means of a flexible tube, or the like. The pipe 8 carries a burner h. Prefer-.
ably a heat distributing plate 11 is arranged between the front and rear board a little above the said burner. The longitudinal corners o of the plate 2' are slightly bent upward to cause the hot air arising from the burner to come in contact with the inner faces of the front board a and rear board m.
At the bottom edge of the front board e and, if desired, also of the rear board m a narrow trough w, may be provided to receive the water flowing down from the wet sheets e placed on the board.
What I claim is:
1. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of specification of Letters Patent.
lfatented Feb. 11%, 119W.
Serial No. eases. I
paper, or other material comprising one continuous flat surface formed of two oppositely inclined faces, and a heat radiating means directly underneath said faces.
2. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material comprising a continuous fiat surface of triangular cross-section provided with a rounded upper edge and a heat radiating means underneath said surface.
3. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material, comprising a continuous flat surface of triangular cross-section, side-walls inclosing the open space underneath said surface, and a heat radiating means arranged in the said open space.
4. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material comprising a continuous flat surface of triangular cross-section, provided with a rounded upper edge, side-walls inclosing the open space underneath said surface, and a heat radiating means arranged in said open space, said side-walls being provided with air-holes near their upper ends. I
5. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material, comprising a continuous fiat surface, forming two oppositely inclined faces, side-walls inclosing the space between said faces, a gas-pipe secured to said side-walls, and a burner carried by said gas-pipe intermediate between said faces.
6. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material comprising a continuous flat surface, forming oppositely inclined faces, side-walls inclosing the space between said faces a gas-pipe secured to said side-walls, and a burner carried by said gaspipe intermediate between said faces, said side-walls being provided with air-holes near their upper ends.
7. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material comprising a continuous flat surface, forming oppositely inclined faces, side-walls inclosing the space between said faces a gas-pipe securedto said side-walls, a burner carried by said gas-pipe intermediate between said faces, and a heat distributing plate, located above said burner and extending between said faces and said side-walls.
8. A drying apparatus for wet sheets of paper or other material comprising a continuous flat surface, forming oppositely inclined faces, side-walls inclosing the sp betw said faces a gas pipe to side-walls, a burner carried by said gas pipe intermediate between said faces, and
a heat distributing plate, located above said burner and extending between said faces and said side-walls, said side-Walls being provided with air holes near their upper ends.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in presence of two w1tnesses.
PAUL MUELLER.
