To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ARTHUR G. TnoMrsox, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, county of New York, State of New York, have invented an Improvement in Pin-Tickets, of which the following description, in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a specification, like characters on the drawing representing like parts.

This invention relates to pin tickets designed for attachment to cloth, garments,

or other articles, to serve as the indication of price, style, or for other purposes as such devices are or may be used.

The object of the invention is to provide a device of this character in which the penetrating and attaching member shall be in capable either of injuring the person attaching it to the cloth, garment, or other article, or of injuring the cloth, garment, or other article itself. When the penetrating points of the penetrating and attaching member consist of sharpened pins or wire, these points are liable, when carelessly handled, or through accident, to injure the hands of the user. Furthermore, owing to the fact that devices of this character must be made extremely cheaply and consequently cannot be carefully finished, there isvoften a bur, roughness, or sharp edge on the penetrating member which cuts the threads or fibers of garments or fabrics to which it is attached or catches upon and draws out the fine fibers thereof, thus injuring-or disfiguring the article.

This invention obviates any such disadvantages and presents a pin ticket in which the penetrating and attaching pins aresmooth surfacedthroughout and present smooth, ronndedpoints While still readily penetrating the cloth, garments, or articles to which the ticket is to be attached.

The nature of the invention Will appear more fully from the accompanying description and drawings and will be particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

The drawings show a preferred form of pin ticket embodying the invention.

In the drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view of pin ticket looking at the rear side thereof.

The pin ticket is composed of the card J hich I by reason of the principle of this invention m S a may be of considerably smaller diameter than that which otherwise would be used. Both ends of the wire are doubled back upon the wire itself to present the double penetrating pins 2 and 3 thus securing smooth rounded points l and 5 on the pins.

Holes 6 and 7 are provided in the card near one edge thereof through which the Wire of the penetrating and attaching memher is passed. in the form illustrated, that portion of the wire constituting the pane trating pins 2 and 3 is passed through these holes and in any case the penetrating pins project from the rear face of the card in a substantial parallel relation as shown Fig. 1.

The central portion of the wire is bent about the edge of the card and clamps the card between its bends so as securely to held the penetrating and'attacl'iing member in place. In the construction illustrated the double portion of the wire extends at 8 and 9 from the holes 6 and 7 along the front face of the card to and about the adjacent edge, the free ends 11 and 12 being bent back upon the rear face of the card and the intermedi ate central portion 13 being bent back in t loop form against the .rear face of the card.

It Will thus be seen that the penetrating and attaching member is firmly secured to the card both by being passed through holes in the card and by being bent about and clamped to the edge of the card. it will also be seen that the penetrating pins 2 3 project from the rear face of the card and the wire in these penetrating pin portions is double and continuous throughout to present are thus passed through, they are bent back 2' Gil against the rear face of the card thus securing the card in place.

A pinticket comprising a card provided with a pair of holes near its edge; a wire having its ends doubled back upon itself to present a pair of double penetrating pins with smooth rounded points, the said pins projecting through said holes, and the central portion of said wire extending from said holes to and about said edge and clamped to the card.

In a pin-ticket having a plurality of rouml-pointed double-shank pins formed of a smgleplece of wire, the wire between said pins being bent so as to engage with the upper and under sides of the ticket, the shanks of said pins passing through the ticket and the free endsof said wire engaging with both sides of the ticket to hold the pins in connection therewith.
