This invention relates to improvements in gloves or the like. One object of my invern tion is to provide a glove which on the inside of the lingers and palm thereof maybe mede of a suitable wearing material formed entirely from one piece while the backs for the fingers and hand may be formed of any suitable material, which being larger than the wearing material of the glove may be turned inwardly at its edges to connect with the edges of said wearing material to form a glove from the least number of parts and with the least possible number of seams. The inner or wearing section of the glove in this manner may be formed ofv a suitable material capable of withstanding hard usage while the back may be formed of other material to give a proper and easy fitting, this being better accomplished by reason of the fact that the only place where the wearing section of the glove appears is directly underneath the hand or the fingers thereof. Various other new and useful features hereinafter more' fully described will be apparent as understanding is had of the construction shown in the accompanying drawing, in which;

Figures 1 and 2 are views from the front and back of a glove formed in accordance with my invention.

Fig. 3 is a pattern of one part or section of fabric used in making the glove shown in Fig. 2.

Fig. 4 is a pattern of another section used in conjunction with that shown in Fig. 3 for making the back of a glove.

Fig. 5 is a pattern of the'wearing section of the glove.

Like reference characters refer to like parts throughout the several views of the drawing.

In the construction of the glove shown in Figs. 1 and 2, there is provided a section 1 of material, which preferably will be elastic, as shown in Fig. 4 from which at one side projects av relatively large Y thumb :portion 2 i while :from the-:upper end off the body, seccomprised of a body 7 from which project upwardly=the parts ABland 9, 1O1=and E11, these com-ing underneath the fingers while in alinelnent with the outer' finger section at 9 is a part 12 which is to come underneath the thumb. In addition to these two parts a piece of fabric of the same material as that from which the body 1 is formed is cut to form two oppositely extending sections 13 and 14 as illustrated in Fig. 3 which at one edge is cut substantially midway between its ends and partially through on the line 15.

In constructing the glove the fabric illustrated in Fig. 3 is located between the two sections 3 and 4 of the fabric shown in Fig.

4 and the parts connected together by a seam 16 along the lines 5 and 6 and the lines formed by the cut at 15. The wearing section shown in Fig. 5 is then placed underneath the construction so formed and the edges of sections 3 and 4, 13 and 14 and of the thumb portion 2 are turned inwardly so as to connect with the linger pieces 8 and 9, 10 and 11 and the thumb section 12. It will be observed that the material comprised of the sections of fabric in Figs. 3 and 4 when joined together is considerably larger than the wearing section shown in Fig. 5 and that the parts will have to be turned inwardly and downwardly tol connect with this wearing section at the edges so that the fingers and the back of the hand and thumb will be entirely covered by the material made up of the section shown in Figs. 3 and 4 except directly underneath said fingers, palm of the hand and the thumb; but that enough of the heavier and more durable material to stand the wear will be supplied that no heavy service will come upon any of the fabric of the sections of material shown in Figs. 3 and 4. It will further be observed that outside of the seam 16 which joins the iinger pieces 13 and 14 along the lines 5 and 6 to the main back section 1, no other seam is necessary except that passing around the outer edges of the wearing section as shown in Fig. 5, there being in all but two seams necessary for the formation of a glove. Accordingly a glove of this construction can be very quickly and easily made from three pieces and with but two seams necessary. The glove may also be finished if desired, with a. Wristlet Which muy, as shown et 2 1, be formed of any suitable fabric, preferably an elastic knitted Jfabric, and if desired the glove may be lined With any suitable lining.

In u device of the character described, an inner Wearing section made of one piece of material and comprising,` parts to lie Within the palm of the hand and inner sides of the fingers and thumb, e main cover section having a larger outline than the Wearing section and comprised of parts to cover the back and sides of the hand, the back and sides of the rst and last fingers, and the back, sides and part of the underside of the thumb, seid cover section being seemed to the Wearing section at the outer edges of both sections and an auxiliary cover section to cover the second and third fingers at the back and sides thereof, its side edges being secured with a continuous seam to the corresponding` parts of the Wearing section, and its remaining edge having connection by a seem to the main cover section, substantially as described.
