M. F. KELLNER l SVEWING BOWL.
Patented Oct. 2, MU.
MARY F. KELLNER, OF CHICAGO. ILLINOIS.
SEWING-BOWL.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 2, 1917.
Application filed October 30, 1915. Serial No. 58,910.
To all whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, MARY F. KELLNER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful owing-Bowl, of which the yfollowing is a specification. A
My invention relates to improvements in sewing boxes, in which a combination of separate compartmentsv or receptacles, for sewing articles, are united in one useful instrument of ornamental design.
I attain these objects by the mechanism in the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1#- represents front view of the complete sewing bowl, with the cover closed. Fig. 2, a top view of the cover, with respective locations of the spindles. Fig. 3, the bowl with the cover opened, showing the hollow bowl for buttons, etc. Fig. 4, a section showing block which holds screw, which is attached to cover, and which allows cover to be turned around so as to open mouth of bowl.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
A is the base of the bowl B. I represents the hollow portion of the bowl into which may be placed buttons and other articles used in sewing. A circular disk C serves as a cover for the bowl B, it is attached to B, by a wood screw or pin H, which runs through C, and into block F. lVood screw or pin H, is protected or slightly raised from cover C, by washer G. Small circles E, in Fig. 2, represent pins which are used to hold spools 'of thread. These pins are attached to cover C, and are placed in a circle within the outer edge of cover C. D, which is a hollow bowl ywith a base is set in the center of, and is attached to the cover C. J, is the hollow or inside of D, which is a cushion holder, in which a soft cushion is placed to receive pins, needles, etc.
I claim- A spool holder comprising a bowl B provided with a one piece cover pivoted to one side of the bowl, said cover carrying spindles for spools and a stand D adapted to support a pin cushionas and for the purpose set forth.
