TICKET-HOLDER.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I. EDWARD A.'SorrRnIBnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, haveinvented certain new and seenby the conductor in passing through the car.

The inyention is illustrated, in certain preferred embodiments, in the accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 is a fragmentary elevation of the side wall of a railway car showing the ticket holder, constructed in accordance with my invention, fastened to the wall panel between the windows.

Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of the ticket holder.

Fig. 3 is a section on line 33 of Fig. 2.

Figs. 4 and 5 are views, in elevation and section, of a modification, Fig. 5 being a section on line 55 of Fig. 4.

Figs. 6 and 7 are views corresponding to Figs. 4 and 5, respectively, showing another modification.

Figs. 8 and 9 are similar views showing a different form of the invention.

Figs. 10 and 11 are similar views showing still another modification, and

Tn Figs. 1, 2 and 3 the device consists of a single piece of wire bent so as to form two loops 25 which lie fiatwise against the wall panel 26 except at their outer extremities which are preferably bent up slightly, as indicated at 27. The wire between the loops is formed with an arcuate bend 28 and on the opposite side the extremities of the wire 29, 30 are similarly bent. 31 is a washer which lies over the parts of the wire just described, and 32 a screw which fastens I Specification of Letters Patent.

the device to the panel. It will be observed that the'wire does not crossitself at any point." All parts of the wire lie in the same plane except the outwardly bent portions at the extremities of the loops.

The device shown in Figs. 4 and 5 consists also of a single wire which does not cross itself at any point, the wire being bent so as to form three loops 33, 34, 35, one within the other. The ends of the wire are bent to form eyelets 36 through which extend the attaching screws 37. This device will accommodate three tickets held one above the other so as to be all in plain sight.

In Figs. 6 and 7 there are two tickets holding loops 38, 39, and outside of these an attaching loop 40 secured at top and bottom to the panel by screws or other fastening devices 41.

The device shown in Figs. 8 and 9 has three ticket holding loops 42, 43, 44, one within the other. One end of the wire, the device consisting of a single wire which no where crosses itself, is formed with an eyelet 45 for the attaching screw 46. The lower end of the device, including the free extremity 47 of the wire, is covered by plate 48.

The device shown in Figs. 10 and 11 is similar to that shown in the first two figures but with double the number of loops. The wire is bent to form four radial loops 49. The inner ends of the loops are held firmly against the panel by washer 50 and screw 51.

The device shown in Figs. 12 and 13 consists of two wires, one bent to form relatively long loops 52, and the other forming shorter loops 53. The second mentioned device is placed on top of the first one, preferably with the interposition of a washer 54. Both devices are secured to the panel by a screw 55, the head of which bears against a washer 56. The wire forming loops 53 will take the position shown by the full lines, or it may be turned around to the dotted line position.

I claim:

1. A ticket holder for a railway car consisting of a wire bent to form a plurality of spring ticket holding loops, said loops lying for most of their length fiatwise against the side of the car to which the device is attached with their extremities arranged a trifle from the same.

2. A ticket holder for a railway car consisting of a single wire, which does not cross itself at any point; bent to form four radirally arranged loops, and attaching means which engages the wire at the "central point between said loops, and attaching means for securing the wirevto a part of the car at a point between said loops.

3. A ticket holder for a railway car consisting of a Wire bent to form, a plurality of spring loops for supporting tickets between said loops and the part of the car to which the device is attached, and attaching meansfor engaging the Wire at .a central,
