To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, \VILFORD R. DANIELS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Union Course, in the county of Queens and State of New York, new and useful Improvements in Spot-Removers; and I dohereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My present invention relates to an imfor use in removing grease spots and stains from clothing, cloth, blankets etc; and the principal object of the invention isthe provision of means whereby gasolene or other solvents or detergents may be conveniently, readily and economically employed forthe purpose above named.

The invention is illustrated in certain preferred embodiments in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a perspective view of one preferred form of my device and Fig. 2 is a similar view of one end of a modified form.

The article comprises ably of glass, and preferably having its forward or rubbing end bent downward as shown at 11. At a convenient point on the exterior of this tube, and preferably, as shown, at the convexity of the curved part 11 I provide a sharp salient 12, for scratching or softening hard grease spots. This is preferably blown, molded, cut or otherwise formed in the body of the tube itself, as shown in Fig. 1. The rear extremity of the tube is fitted with a cap 13, preferably screwed onto a thread formed on the end of the tube, and this cap may be lined with a circular-washer 14 of cork, rubber or other suitable material.

In the preferred form shown this takes the form of a thick partition dividing the tube into a forward space just behind the rubbing element 15, which I term a magazine, and rearward space next the cap 13, which 1 term the reservoir.

In use the reservoir is filled with the cleaning fluid which saturates the absorbent mass 17. Various changes may be made in the construction of my improved article of manufacture, and I do not limit myself to the details herein shown and described.

What I claim is- A spot removing device comprising a tube, a'cleaning element at one end thereof, an absorptive mass within said tube dividing the same into two chambers, and means adapted to control the air pressure behind said absorptive mass so as to limit the passage of liquid therethrough toward said cleaning element, substantially as described.
