To all whom it may concern it known that I, ARTHUR S. KNIGHT, subject'of the King of Great Britain, and eresiclent of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of Neiv Jersey, have invented a new and useful improvement in lncanclcscent Lamps, 01" which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to electric ineancles- Hc cent lamps, and particularly to tubular s 'i'l maintaining it taut.

9. In-an incandescent lamp,.having a filament comprising sections, adjacent sections of which areelectrically connected by means having ends which can approach and recede relative to each other to compensate for the expansion and contraction of the filament;
the lamp comprising an element or elements whichwill permit said ends of said means to recede and cause said ends to approach whereby the expansion and contraction of the filament can be compensated for.
10. An incandescent lamp having a filament comprising sections arranged end to end, adjacent sections of which are electrically connected by means having ends which can move toward and from each other; said. lamp comprising an element which will cause said ends to move toward each other and thereby maintain the fila-' ment sections under tension.
