It'is a particular object of the present invention to provide a swivel head hydrant with as few parts as is possible with practical construction, and to provide a ozzle or head member capable of being turned v through a complete circle, and to provide a leverhaving the'dual functions of an operating means and a locking means to hold the hydrant head in any desired position with relation to the stand-pipe.

In the drawings, 2 represents a stand-pipe connectible to a suitable source of supply and having secured at its upper endaan annularly flanged member 3, the diametral face 4 of which is adapted to form a seat; and centrally within the seat member 3 there is formed or provided ;a stationary bushing 5, internally threaded as at 6 :and forming anut. Mounted upon the hydrant seat 3 is a hydrant head7; here shown as of spherical form, with a radial nozzle or discharge mouth 8 at oneside, and having a flange or bearing face 9 to fit and turn upon the surface 4: of the valve seat 3. -Extending diametrically through the hydrant head 7 and projecting from the top thereof is a valve spindle 10 vhaving intermediate its ends a stop shoulder 11 and also a bearing shoulder '12, andagainst the latter there rests a disk plate 13 turnable on the stem, forming the closing member of the valve; and being prevented from longitudinal movement upon the. spindle 10 by a pin or other suitable stop 14. Having thus described our invention, What We claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In combination With a stand pipe, member secured to the upper end of said pipe and having an outwardly extending peripheral flange, a nut connectedto said member andarmnged on the interior ofthe pipe,

In combination With a standpipe and a member connected thereto and extending outwardly therefrom, said member being formed to have a valve seat on one side face thereof, a head turnably seated on the member, a valve connected to the head and engageable With said valve seat, and swingable means borne by the head and engaged Witlrsaidmember to lock the head against turning movement and to also enable turning of the head.
5. In combination with a stand-pipe and a member connected thereto and extending outwardly: therefrom, said member being formedto have a valve seat on one side face thereof, a valve engageable with said valve scana head connected to said valve andseated on said side face of the member in surrounding" relation to said valve, and means connected to said head and engageable Withthe opposite side face of the memher to lock the head against turning movef ment on said member.
6. In combination with a stand-pipe and a memberconnected thereto and extending outwardly therefrom a valve and a turn'able head connected to the valve which valv'e and head engage one side face of said member,
means connected to the head and engaged With the opposite side face of said member to lock the head against turning on said member.
