MIXING: DEVICE FGR SQF A'FDUNTAINS.
' specification of. ftetters E?"- Applicntr useful Improvements in lvl ix'lig Devices for Sda-Fountains, of which the fonowizig is a specification.
This invention relates to er attachment for soda fountains p rticularly to a mixing device in whim the various ingredients used'in making up the par. ticular drink will'be automatically mixed in the glass during their delivery from the fountain t0 the glass, thereby avoiding loss oftime incident to theusual hand mixing and additionally insuring a more perfectly mixed drink. v
The invention in its preferred in of de; tails will be described in the folio snecification, reference being had particularly to the accompanying drawings, in winch:
Figure 1 is a sectional view illustrating the application of the improvement to an ordinary soda fountain dispensing process. Fig. 2 is a section of the same taken right improved- 3 v,
-angles to Fig. 1.
In carrying out the presentinventioii l mount within the faucet 1, preferably above the outlet port therefrom, a motor 2 which may if desired be energised from ordinary lamp socket connect1on'3 or any other suitable way. lhe motor is preferably arranged so that the armature shaft l therecfwill extend vertically of the faucet delivery end, and said shaft is extended so that the lower end thereof projects below the mouth or delivery end 5 of the faucet. On thelower end of the shaft 4 is arranged a mixing .wheel 6 which latter may be of any desired ,type and preferably in the form of a dish having the edges thereof formed small the force of the mixing disk upon the liquid is down ward rather than in the upward direction.
'Journaled transversely within the fsucet l is the shaft 10 formed mid-way of its ends with the valve 11 which latter has connection with the delivery pipe 1Q leading from the fountain, the valve being; rotatably mounted within the casing 13 from which depends the discharge spout i l: (surround. ingthe shaft 10 and bearing against one end. of the casing 13 is a coil spring which its opposite ends bearing against the cross filed lune 13, 15513.

wires extending therefrom through the yoke to t motor 221s shown. Manifestly by reason this construction it will be noted that when the handle 8 is grasped in lower m the yoke 17 for controlling the valve 11' ment '3 may be actuated to operate the motor independently of or simultaneously with the discharge of the fluid, it being desirable that tl e motor should be energized slightly in fluids from the faucet for the purpose of insuring even and uniform mixing with all now consider the preferred form of my inlcontem'plate no limitation with respect to "the disk, or the character of the switch, as any usual or preferred types of devices for these functions may be employed.
Whet I claim is i. The combination with a soda fountain faucet having a valve controlled discharge element connected therewith, of a motor opperated mixer comprising a disk and rod connected to said disk and extending within the faucet whereby to support said diskbelow and in a line with said faucet, and means for operating said motor independently of or simultaneously with the discharge of the fluid."
