To all whom it may concern it Q Beit known that I, GEO G EDMOND DEN- MAN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Fruitvale, in the county of 'Ala meda and State of California, have invented anew and Improved Liquid-Fuel Burner, of
which the followingis a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to burners through which liquid-fuel is forced ou t'into a fine, evenly subdivided, spray the particles of which are made to intermingle with the fluid used and by means of'which fluid "the atomizing of the liquid fuel is obtained.
The object thereof is to provide an inexpensive, simple and efficient burner which can be easily cleaned, inspected and repaired.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views and in which:
Figure 1 is a longitudinal axial section of an embodiment of my invention; Fig. 2 is, a vertical, central section through the tip on lines 22, Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a horizontal cross section through the tip on lines 33, Fig. 1; Fig. 1 is a horizontal cross section on line l4, Fig. 1; and Fig. 5 is a vertical cross section on line 5-5, Fig. 1.
Before proceeding toa more detailed description of my invention, it must be clearly understood that the device herein disclosed is an improvement on my application, Serial No. 739,634, filed January 2, 1918, Patent No. 1,086,998. It differs from the other structure in the formation of the tip body proper.
Referring to the drawings, 7 represents the tip proper having a funnel portion 8, the stem 9 of which is threaded exteriorly and received in an elbow 10, and which stem registers with the central pas-- sage 11 in said elbow. The upper portion 12 of the tip which forms a continuation of the funnel portion is cylindrical and threaded interiorly at its upper end wherein it is engaged by a plug 13 plugging said tip at said end. The cylindrical portion 12 of the tip is provided with a slot 14: "disposed perpendicular to'the axis of the tip and intended as an outlet from said tip for the fuel admitted to the tip through the passage 11 of the elbow. In lieu of the slot 14, an opening of any shape can be made.

The liquid fuel is sup plied through an innertube or easing connected to the elbow 10 and in register with the passage 11 of said atomizing the liquid fuel is supplied through a tube or outer casing 21 surrounding said by means of a threaded sleeve or union 22,
said inner and outer casings having independent inlets, which are not shown in the drawing as the structure of the same is common in the art.
The compressed air or steam, or any other fluid used for the atomizing of the liquid fuel, is admitted into the casing21 whereand fills the chamber 18. Then it enters the tip body 7 through apertures 19, from where it finds its outlet through the slot 14. The liquid fuel admitted through the inner casing 20 passesthrough the central passage 11 of the elbow into the tip 7, meeting the compressed fluid at the apertures 19 where.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
1. In a liquid fuel burner, funnel and cylindrically-shaped portions, said funnel portion having a liquid fuel inlet at the bottom thereof and a fluid inlet in the sides thereof, said cylindrical portion having an outlet for said fuel and fluid.

In a liquid fuel burner, a tip comprising a funnel portion having cylindrical extensions at the ends thereof, the extension. at the smaller end of said funnel portion forming the fuel inlet for said tip, said funnel portion having apertures in the sides thereof adjacent the smaller end of the funnel forming the fluid inlet into said tip; a plug for the cylindrical extension at the other end of the funnel, said latter cylindrical extension having a slot in the lateral surface thereof adjacent the plug forming an outlet for the fuel and fluid from said 4.
