To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, 'luoams T'T()\VARD llonnorn, a subject of His Majesty the King of England, residing at -l-l West Hill road, Flouthlields, in the county ol. Surrey, Kingdom of. England, have invented a certain new and useful Improved Nondielillable Bottle, of which the tollmving is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved nonrefillable bottle and a nonaletachable valve therefor, and has for its object to provide a device of simple construction which will effectively prevent the introduction o'l. liquids or solids into bottles or vessels when once they have been filled and thus render the substitution, of goods under other manntacturers labels impossible.
The drawings show a convenient manner of carrying out this invention with regard to a bottle in which drawiugsc-- Figure 1 is a. sectional elevational view, and Fig. 2 a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
A tubular or hollowed member composed of preferably three parts a, (2, (2, secured together, is inserted into the neck ll of the bottle, and the top portion a of the member is provided with one or more internally arranged ba'ltle plates a and wlth a cap 0 adapted to (it over and around the edge of the top or mouth of the bottle neck.
The central portion 7) ot the member is provided with one or more internal ballle plates as shown at g, and is formed with a ,-.hamber h adapted to inelose the cup-shaped head 2'. of a valve the stem j of which slidably tits in. the bottom portion c of the member. The dogs Z are pivotally mounted in the lower end of the member and are adapted to be normally thrown outward by the resiliency of the rubber ring in. surrounding the member 0 just above the dogs and bearing thereagainst. Upon inserting the member 0 into the neck of the bottle as shown, the dogs Z lie against the sides of the memher 0, however, when the member 0 reaches its final position the dogs are thrown outward against the sides of the bottle neck by reason of the resiliency of the ring m, and since they are not adapted to fold down to withdraw the momof the bottle is met by dogs Z.

When the bottle empty and it is desired to remove the ahove-deseribed device thorelrom it is necessary to break the bottle neck to do so, thus it will be seen that the present invention provides a noircletachable, device which will render a bottle absolutely non-refillable by fraudulent means, and prevents tampering with the same in any way.
The top portion it of the member is shaped to take flexible material such as cork, rubber or leather 0, to [it tight and closely to the neck ol. the bottle thus preventing leakage, also causing the bottle to remain air tight and giving a rigidity to the member. The lower portion (1 of the member is preferably fitted with a cork, rubber, or other centrally perforated washer p which would prevent liquid in the bottle or vessel flowing to and corroding the expanding devices and other parts, and said washer may carry a mica or other disk or label 7, descriptive of the contents of the bottle.
In operation the device is inserted in the neck o'l, the bottle after the bottle has been filled. W'hen the dogs Z move into the enlarged portion of the bottle neck the resilient action of the rubber band in "forces them outward as shown and prevents withdrawal of the device. Upon tilting the bottle the contents flow out through the central passage, the valve moving away from its said lower ends, dogs provided with pins engaged in said slots whereby said dogs have a pivotal and sliding connection with the "valve structure, and means carried by the valve structure to force said dogs outwardly.
