I KLEIN, aycitizen of the United States, and a resident oi the city of New York borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of- New York, have invented a new and Improved Banda ge-Corset, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

In the application of device as above described, each section of the corset adjacent the sides of the body is provided with a substantially vertical reinforcing .strip .l5'the two converging upwardly and being designed for securely attaching a plurality of, preferably five, vertically spaced and upwardly converging rows of eyelets 16. By reason of the engagement of the supporting section with, the inner faces of the corset sections at the front, downward movement of the supporters together with the supporting sect-ion, beyond a predetermined degree, is prevented in such a manner as to serve a double function by simultaneously holding the flexible lower part of the corset and the-supporting section inward and in supporting position.

In the use and application of the improvement with the corset, the sections are laced at'the back so as to be comfortably tight when fastened in the front. The corset is put on like a pair of drawers, while the front is unfastened and before the ends of the tape sections 2e and 26 are connected, the wearer passing the legs through at the top so that the bandage section 17 will lie in front of the lower part of the abdomen. The bandage or supporting section 17 is then fitted under the abdomen to properly support the same, and after the corset is fastened thereover, the tape sections 24 and 26 are connected and drawn taut. As the corset fits the body it will not be bunched when the tape sections 24 and 26 are connected to bind the bandage section 17. This is due to the fact that the eyelets 16 are positioned at the sides of the body and the body will not be reduced to any appreciable degree. The supporters will also tend to pull downwardly on the flexible lower part of the corset and-assist in retaining the same smooth and prevent crowding or bunching of the parts toward the center.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. The combination with corset sections;

justable connections carried by the ends of said supporting sections, extended through the corset sections and connected at the front, and depending supporters carried by said supporting section, said corset sections having horizontally alined openings through which said supporters extend.

2. The combination with corset sections having a plurality of spaced openings at the side portions; of an abdominal supporting section provided with flexible reinforcing members designed to conform to the body, tapesconnected to the extremities of said supporting sections and passing through the openings, and inelastic and adjustable connections between the free extremities of the tapes eXteriorly of the corset, the sections having openings near their joining front edges and elastic supporting members connected to the lower edge of the abdominal supporting section and movably engaged through said openings against limited downward displacement.

3. The combination with corset sections proper having connecting means at the front and back; of a substantially lenticular reinforced supporting section loosely mounted at the inner side thereof and adapted for adjustment independent of the corset sections in front of the abdomen, adjustable connections carried by the ends of said supporting section, said connections being extended through the corset sections proper and toward each other at the front and connected, and depending supporters carried by said supporting section and engaged with the corset sections to hold the supporting section against upward movement and simultaneously hold the lower portions of the corset sections and supporting section in supporting position.

The combination with corset sections having flexible lower portions and reinforcements in the sides thereof converging upwardly and provided with vertical rows of eyelets mounted therein; of a supporting section adapted for adjustment independent of the corset sections and having flexible reinforcing stays permitting the supporting section to conform to the body, said support- ,ing section also having convexly arcuate top and bottom edges and upwardly converging straight side edges, a plurality of inelastic tapes attached to said supporting section at spaced points of the sides of the latter and extending through the eyelets in spaced parallel relation, said tapes being carried straight toward the front edges of the sections, inelastic sections connected to the tapes, adjustable buckle connections between the inelastic sections whereby pull excrted thereon will tend to straighten the supporting section between the eyelets through which the tapes extend and cause the same to be tightened against the body, In testimony whereof I have signed my and means at the central portion of the supname to this specification in the presence of porting section to simultaneously hold the two subscribing Witnesses.
