To all whom it may concern:
Be it lmown that l, FLOYD H. Bnannnn- BURG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Klamath Falls, in the county of mamath and State of Oregon, haveinvented certain new and useful Improvements in Toilet-Seats; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact deseription of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the'same.
This invention relates to improvements in toilet seats and especially with reference to the provision of a smaller seat for use by children, and which is hingedly connected to the seat and to the lid and is adapted to be arranged in and carried by the lid, so as to be out of the way when not in use, and is also adapted to be readily arranged in the 0 seat, when desired, the object of the invention being to provide an improved device of this character which is simple, in construction, is strong and durable, and is not likely to get out of order.

The seat 1 and lid 2 may be of any suitable size and shape and made of any suitable material and are hinglfdly connected to ey may be raised and lowered. These hinge lates are engaged by a common pintle rod Any suitable pivotal or hinge connection may, in accordce with my invention, be employed for connecting the seat and lid with the fixed member. I also, in accordance with my invention provide a small seat 8, which'may be made of any suitable material and is adapted to be lowered and fitted in the seat 1, This smaller seat is here shown as provided on its lower side with .a reinforcing plate 9, made of suitable sheet metal but this reinforcing plate may be omitted if desired.
The reinforcing plate is here shown as provided with a hinge arm 10, which coacts with the hinge plates 45-6 and is also pivotally mounted on the common pintle 7 so that the lid, the seat, and the smaller seat have a common pivotal axis. i The lid is pro vided. onits front side with a recess 11 which corresponds in size and shape with the the smaller seat to be raised and arranged in the said recess so as to be entirely out of the way. A s ring latch 12 is provided which is secure as shown at 13 at the lower side of the recess 11 and the shoulder head 14. of which is adapted to pass through an opening 15 in the small seat and to engage at the side of said opening and thereby lock the small seat to the lid when the small seat-is raised andirranged in the recess 11. By disengaging t e latch from the small seat the latter may be readily lowered from the lid and to facilitate the disengagement of the small seat the lid is here shown as provided with a finger slip 16 under the upper. side of the recess 11.
