OVERALLS.
APPLICATION FILED SEPT. 23, ms.

OVERALLS. r
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 18, 1916.
Application filed September 23, 1915. Serial No. 52,263.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETER L. DE VoIs'r, a citizen of the United States of'America, and resident of Duluth, in the county of St. Louis and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Overalls, of which the following is a specification,
This invention relates to apparel and particularly to overalls, the said invention being primarily designed as a protecting garmentwhich may be utilized without regard to the back or front as the overalls are inter.- changeable with respect to such positions and in this respect are distinctly advantageous as compared with overalls now in general use.
An object of-this invention is to provide a garment of this type which will fit loosely and will prove comfortable, the same having a reversible bib which is alike at the front and back and may be worn alternatively by changing from back to front accordingeto the condition of the garment,'or the pleasure of the wearer.
It is a known fact that the wear on overalls comes usually on the front and with a garment of the type referred to herein, reversal of the position of the garment will cause practically uniform wear on the two sides and will increase the durability of the said garment.
The ordinary bib overalls have a front opening, but in the present invention the opening extends from side toside, the crotch portion being open and provided with such appropriate fastenings, thus preventing ripping at the point'where it generally occurs; furthermore, the strain or binding which is present in overalls of the ordinary type is ob-. viated. v
By reason of the fact that the invention is of the structure mentioned in a general way? advantages result and the garment may be .put on or taken oflf expeditiously.
With the foregoing and other objects in View, theinvention consists in the details of construction, and in the arrangement. and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed.
In describing the invention in detail, ref-- erence will be had to the accompanying drawings forming part of this specification wherein like characters denote corresponding parts in the several views, and in Which- Figure 1 illustrates a View in perspective showing one side of the garment; Fig. 2
illustrates a view in perspective showing the opposite side; and Fig. 3 illustrates a view in perspective showing the garment removed from the wearer.
In these drawings 4 denotes one bib of the garment and 5 the other bib thereof, which bibs are practically of uniform con struction. The leg portions 6 and 7 have side openings at their tops as shown at 8, the said portions of the garment at the opening beingsecured together by fastenings such as 9, it being understood that these openings are provided at each side.
The crotch portion 10 has fastenings 11,- it being understood that such fastenings are garment, as stated. The shoulder straps 12 extend from one bib to the other and as the front'and rear portions are duplicated in all respects, it follows that if the garment is of sufficiently. large size, it may be worn without regard to the front and back, Without interfering with the freedom of motion of,
the wearer; furthermore the garment can be made without increase of material as compared with overalls now in common use so that the cost ofproduction will not be increased whereas the efficiency and durability of the device may be materially enhanced.
I claim- A reversi and two bibs uniform in constructlon, shoulder straps connecting the bibs, said leg portions having an open crotch, fastenings at provided both at the front and rear of the ble garment having leg portions each side of the garment at the top and at the front and rear of the crotch.
In testimony whereof, I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses.
