IMPROVEMENT IN WINDOW-SHADES.
The object of my invention is to provide al cheap, durable, and easily-Constructed Windowshade or blind, made so as to keep out the entire light, or let in light in sections to suit the will of all, or as occasion may require for ventilation or v light. Y

A represents the Window-frame; B, the curtain or shade; C, one of the shades drawn back or open D, the stationary frame of the curtain, which is made fast to the inside of the window-frame 5 E, the movable part of the frame. F and F and L and L are flexible eords of rubber fastened in the stationary and movable frames E and D; G G and H H, the fastenings of cords F F, L L, and L L. O and O P and P represent the Cords used to draw the curtains. S represents a guide-bar fastened at S S. My invention consists in the arrangement of Curtains that slide sidewise on elastic cords.
The curtain .B is placed in position and the cords L L and L L are made fast to the sliding frame E and D as follows: L and L are made fast to D at H H, and pass through holes in the folds of the curtain, as shown at L L and L' L, and the other end is made fast in the movable slide of the other half of the Curtain. By this means the curtain C or any of the others are drawn to the stationary frame D by means ofthe cords Oand P, and are held in position either Wide open or partially so by hooking the rings K over the knobs J, as mayv be required.
I elaim- The combination of the curtain B, stationary frame D, movable slat E, rubber cords F F L L drawing-cords O O P P, guide-bars S, rings K, and knobs J, all constructed and operating sul stantially as described.
