To all whom it may 00 nccrn I Be it known that l, ALBAN SCIU-IALZ, a. citizen of the Republic of Brazil, residing at 1319Belmont avenue, in the city (if-Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Stoppers for Bottles, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in stoppers or closures for bottles and other receptacles and more particularly to stoppers of paper or other suitable material utilized to close the mouths of bottles for containing milk and other liquids.

The objects of my invention are to so con struct the stopper that it may be easily, can reniently and quickly removed from or placed in position in the mouth of thebottle and to so ar 'ange a part thereof that it may be moved or turned outwardly on the remainder to provide a small opening through which the contents of the bottle or a portion thereof may be poured. These and other objects-l accomplish ashereinafter set forth in the following description and as particularly pointed out in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawings in Which a. preferred adaptation or embodiment of my invention is shown.

My improved stopper or closure as shown comprises a fiat dish 3 of paper or other so suitable material which is oil circular form except at the point where a linger grasping" and lifting projection 4, is formed. The two great advantages of this invention are that the contents of the bottle may. be removed Without removing" the stopper and an extremely convenient means is pro vided for opening or closing the small opening in the stopper and also removing the said stopper from the bottle.

I modification and change without departing from the spirit of'lny invention, I therefore do not wish to be limited to the construction herein Shown and described, but desire to avail myself of all such variations, alterations, modifications and changes as fairly fall within the scope of the appended claims or may be construed to be within the scope thereof by involving the doctrine of equivaients. i

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A device of the class described, comprising a disk having two radial slits, a segmental portion between said slits constituting a door, the portions of said disk on opposite sides of said door constituting supports for said door, when closed, a triangular finger grasping projection extending t'ron fsaid door, the door being adapted to turn on a straight line extendin'g'between the inner ends of the slits and the finger grasping projection to turn on a curved line .forming a continuation of the circumferential peripherial edge of the disk, the door and finger grasping projection being integral with each other and the disk, and

having five sides,'one of which forms the juncture with the disk, two others of which are straight and are formed by the slits,'

and the remaining two of which are slightly curved and constitute the exterior sides of the finger grasping pro ection.

2. A device of the class described, comprising a circular disk having two radial slits a door formed by the slitted segmental portion of said disk and a'triangular finger grasping projection extending centrally out from said door, themarginal portions on opposite sides of the slitted segmental portion constituting supports for said door In testimony whereof I have hereunto aliixed my name in the presence of two wit nesses.
