A grooved grinding diskwith its groove including a transfer-portion, suchi groove being open throughout its length and having portions of a Width substantially equal to the diameter of the article acted upon, the transfer-portion of said groove having a substantially greater width crosswise of said groove than said first-named portions; substantially as described.
