To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, HARRY R. BRISTOL and ARTHUR W. OLGER, citizens of the United States, residing at Pontiac, county of Oakland, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Paper-Board Boxes, and declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to paper-board boxes, and especially large paper-board boxes such as are used by tailors or other garment salesmen for carrying clothes or garments.

The object of the invention is to provide a foldable blank which can be sold to the user in fiat condition in stacks. This, of course, is accomplished by numerous boxes of the prior art, but the applicants improvement comprises such an arrangement of flaps that they may be thrown into substantially interlocking position and engage together without the interlocking of tongues in slots or slits. This is a material improvement, as'it is very desirable to have these boxes as simple and as easy to set up as possible, and this applicants believe they have accomplished in the device shown in the accom- Figure 1 is a view of the blank. The nature of the blank is shown in Fig. 1, the dotted lines showing scored lines or indented lines upon which the folds take place, and the full lines showing the edges and cuts. Of the divisions of the blank made by the cuts and scored lines. a is the base, 12, b are the sides, 0, c are the cover flaps, e, e are the ends, f, f are the lockingflap carriers, and g, g, g, g are the four locking flaps which engage on the outside of the four stay flaps 2', 2', 2', 21 as shown in Fig. 2,

To set the box up, all that is necessary is to bend the stay. flaps 2' and the locking flaps g perpendicularly to the ends 0 and the m terlocking flap carriers 7 respectively, then fold the interlocking flap carriers 7 perpendicularly to the ends e and parallel to the base a, seeing that the interlocking flaps q drop shear-like over the stay flaps 2'. The garment may now be inserted or may have been inserted before the ends of the carriers and the flaps have been erected. After the ends, carriers and flaps have been set up and the garment is in place, the sides I) may be raised by throwing the cover flaps c, 0 over the set up end structures. These cover flaps may be held together by the tongue and slit interlock 7', 7a or any other suitable fastening arrangement.

From the above description it is evident that our box may be set up with ease and celerity, which is the chief aim in boxes of this character. It is also to be noted that it can be constructed out of a minimum amount of paper-board and is very cheaply built otherwise. as it requires no curved slits or groo ed portions requiring expensive die building.

What we claim is:

1. A paper-board box, comprising a blank scored and cut'to form a base. ends at each end of the base, sides at each side of the base. stay flaps at each end of the ends. and provided with three free sides. interlocking flap carriers at the outside sides of the ends, interlocking flaps on the ends of the interlocking flap carriers. and cover flaps on the outside sides of the sides. t e said ends being foldable to a perpendicular position with respect to the base and the said flaps perpendicular to the ends. the interlocking flap carriers being foldable in turn perpendicular to the ends and parallel to the base, the interlocking flaps being foldable perpendicular to the interlocking flap carriers and capable of being dropped to the side of the stay fla s, while the sides can be folded up perpendicular to the base and the cover flaps engaged together to hold the sides in position and the end structures in set up position.
