Speciication forming part of Letters Patent No. 117,130, dated July 18, 1871.
To all lwhom t may concern.-
Be it known that I, LEWIS WARD, of the city of Poughkeepsie, in the county of Dutchess and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Utensil called Baking-Tin and Griddle- Greaser; of which the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention is a utensil for the purpose of greasing baking-pans and griddles in a neat and expeditious manner; but to describe my invention more fully I will refer to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this speciication, the same letters of reference wherever they occur referring to like parts.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the device; Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same, showing the manner in which the wicking is inserted.
I provide a tube, A, Fig'. 1, made of tin or other suitable metal, provided at one end with a cap and screw, B, for the purpose of introducing the grease. The other end of the tube is elongated and shaped in such a manner as to form lips, G, between which wicking or other suitable material, D, is inserted. It is also provided with screws, E, which compress or relax the lips of the tube to regulate the iiow of grease. A foot or hook, F, is attached to the under side for the purpose of hanging up the utensil, and also elevating the elongated end when not in use.
Having now described my invention, I will proceed to set forth what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent ofthe United States.
I claim- A device, for the purpose specified, consisting of a tube, A, wicking D, and screws E, arranged and operating substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have subscribed my name this 14th day of December, 1870.
