' This invention relates to improvements in shirt-s or shirt waist-s, and although, as will appear to workers in the art, the same is capable of embodiment. in fabrics of various kinds. will be primarily found useful in connection with soft orseini-soft materials.

From the foregoing construction, it, will be appreciated that the cuff being formed of a single piece of material, presents a neat rounded edge when the cuff is folded along the center line indicated at L, with the free flap or layer M outermost, and when the free fiap or layer is turned inside, or reversely folded, the roundedupper edge of the free extension constituted by the folded portion C--G will present a similar rounded edge; and also, by reason of the considerable depth and freedom of the folded upper edgeof the ply (J, the same will present the same appearance as the normal appearance of the cuff with the free layer or flap outervmost. In the reversed posit on of the cult, flthe finishing line of stitching K only is exposed, while the securing line of stitches and H are located at a position to be constantly concealed and to permit the free upper folded portion (3+0 to'play back and forth relative to the sleeve without svggest-v ing in any way that the cult has beenreyersed, a consideration which is always doinal free outer layer or fold of the cuff. distinguished from this, my special construction enables the securing of the cuff to the sleeve at a point any distance desired below the foldedupper edge of the outer ply in a hidden position with reference thereto, leaving it optional whether or not the line of finishing stitches K be employed.

It will be appreciated that it is also optional whether the stiffening or reinforcing linen J be introduced within the folded cuff proper constituted by the continuous plies C, D.

While I have herein disclosed a specific embodiment of my invention, it will be clear that changes or alterations may be made therein without departing from the spirit of the invention and as may be included in thehereto appended claim.

I claim- I In combination with a shirt sleeve, a reversible foldable cutl' therefor having an outer ply formed to constitute a folded upper portion free with reference to the sleeve, marginal stitching to retain the edge of the folded portion in flat condition, said stitch-' ing passing through the said folded portion only of the cufi', and not through-the sleeve, the inner layer of said folded portion extending downwardly a substantial distance below the: stitched marginal edge thereof, and stitching securing the lower edge of said inner layer to the adjacent lower end portion of the sleeve independently of the outer layer of the folded portion, so that said folded portion is loosely related to the sleeve to a substantial depth extending below the stitched marginal edge of the folded portion. the central portion of the body of the cuff being free relative to the sleeve to permitfolding' of'said body upon itself .in either direction to present a rounded exposed or wearing edge projected below the sleeve, .substantially as described.
