shape in cross section, having the inclined surfaces 9 upon which the door 7 seats and slides, these surfaces at their upper ends beingin thepiane of the outer surface of the central part of the member 5. The leg members 9 may be secured to the member 5 in any suitalle manner, by means of the bolted lugs 10.
Any suitable system of connections may be employed for maintaining the circulation of water through the frames. In the arrangement shown, water supply pipe 11 extends across the front of the furnace above the furnace doors with a connection 12- (see Fig. 3) leading clmvnwardly within each of the leg members 9. At its upper end each of said members has a. pipe connection 13 leading upwardly to the upper front portion the furnace, where it 18 shown as discharging into afunnel ll mounted on and connected to a pipe 15. This pipe has connections in which telescopically engage the doors 7 to supply water thereto.

l7 designate outlet connections for the doors WfliCil may have portions 18 which telescopically engage the furnace frame be.- tween the doors and discharge therein, the water being carried oif of this frame in any suitable manner.
The pipes 11 and may have the connection 19 provided with a valve 20 so that in case of emergency water can be supplied directly from the pipe 11 to the pipe 15 and thence into the doors through the connections 16. he water supply system shown is illustrative only and any suitable system employed.
The auvantages of my invention result mainly from the provision of the water cooled door frame member 5, which not only forms the skew back for supporting the roof arch at the front of the furnace, but also the upper wall of the door opening of the furnace. By the provision of this member, I avoid the necessity for any masonry or i) ck worlc arch over the door opening and also provide a direct cooling means for supporting a roof arch. The members 5 and 9 being independent of each other any one of the members can be renewed when necessary without disturbing the remainder of the frame.
