Devices; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art' to which it appertains to make and use the same.

1 My invention relates to improvements in electrocuting devices and has for its object to provide such an article which will efiectively guard the entrances of rooms, dwellings, vaults, business houses and the like, used for the retention of valuables, against entrance by thieves,burglars, or other persons with felonious or other malicious intent.

Another object of my invention is to provide a device which can be used as a oor mat in addition to its use as an electrocuting device.

In carrying out these objects, I employ certain novel features of construction and combination hereinafter described and claimed and shown in the drawings wherein:

Figure 1 is a top lan view-of a device constructed in accor ancewith the invention; Fig. 2 is a side view thereof, and Fig. 3 is a transverse section as seen on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.

In this drawing, constituting a part of the resent application, the numerals 1 and 1' esignate a pair of parallel bus bars which lie parallel to and are spaced fromeach other as most clearly seen in Fig. 1.

As most clearly seen in Figs. 1 and 2, the two bus bars 1 and .1'- are provided with binding posts 5 and 15 respectively upon which the terminals 6 and (Y-of a pair of current conducting wires are secured, the eflt'ect being that the circuit is broken until the gap between one plate 2 and one plate 2' j is bridged, whereupon such circuit will be completed. From the foregoing escription, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it will be seen that a very eiiicient article has been provided for carrying out the object of the invention, and that such article will not only be eficient. in operation, but will be very attractive as a floor mat when applied to use.
