ADJUSTABLE ANDCOLLAPSIELE STAND.
ll Mid, 7191-.
Application filed March 9, 1914.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Gunman GRONLUND, a subject of the King of Sweden, and residing at Duluth, in the county of St. Louis and State of Minnesota, have invented certain ne Y and useful Improvements in Adjustable and Collapsible Stands, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to improvements in adjustable and collapsible stands.
The object of my invention is to provide an adjustable and collapsible stand adapted to support a bucket or pot above the ground which, when not in use, can be readily collapsed and the su 'iporting legs removed so that it can be readily carried in a small package. 7
Another object of my invention is to provide a simple, cheap and effective stand of this character having certain details of structure and operation, hereinafter more fully set forth.
In the accompanying drawingsFigui-e 1 is a bottom plan view of the circular base of my improved stand, with the legs removed. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of my improved stand showing a pail or pot thereon. Fig. 3 is an enlarged side elevation showing it in its folded position, with the legs removed. Fig. lis an enlarged side elevation of one of the jointed legs.
Referring now to the drawings, 1 represents the body-portion of my improved support which is preferably made circular in form and of metal construction. This bodyportion, as shown, is formed of two semi"- circular ring- like members 1 and 2, which are provided at their meeting edges with the downwardly extending portions 3 and a hinged together at a and forming the shoulders 5 and 5, which abut each other when the two sections are folded in the position shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings and prevent the body-portion from collapsing when the weight of the bucket or pot is thereon. The body-portion, as heretofore stated, is made of two semi-circular ring- like portions 1 and 2 and have formed on their lower faces a series of sockets 2, into which the legs 6 are placed, as hereinafter more Specification of Letters Patent.

fully described. The lower faces of these members 1. and 2 are provided with vertically disposed flanges 3, centrally located on the members 1 and 2 between the sockets El sockets 12, carried by the upper ends of the sections '7 of the legs. The lower ends of the sections 7 are pointed as indicated at 10, whereby the same will take a firm hold upon the ground or other place wherever the stand is used. By having the sections 7 removable, 1t Will be readily seen that thcheight of the stand can be decreased by removing the sections 7.
The body-portion 1, formed by the members 1. and 2. forms a support for the bucket or pot 11 and yet exposing practically the entire bottom of the pot or bucket so that when a fire is built between the legs 6, the contents of the bucket or pot will be readily heated.
By the construction herein shown, it will be readily seen that when the stand is not in use the legs 6 can be readily removed from the sockets 2 and the body-portion folded as snown in Fig. 3 of the drawings. The lower sections 7 of the legs 5 are removed from the tapered portions 9 and thus the stand can be packed into a very neat package. While I have shown this specific construction and arrangement of parts, it will be seen that the same can be slightly varied without departing from my invention.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is.
A stand of the character described, comprising a body-portion formed of two semicircular members having their abutting ends provided with downwardly extending ears pivoted together at their lower ends and forming vertically abutting walls, horizontally arranged sockets carried by the lower faces of said members, vertically depending strengthening flanges carried by the lower GUNNAR GRONLUND.
faces of the members between the sockets, legs formed of two sections, the lower sections having sockets to receive the lower ends of the upperv sections, and the upper sections having laterally extending portions adapted tov enter the sockets.
