TAYLOR, of Alliance, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have in vented certain new and useful Improvements in ShaftConplings; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear and exact description of the in rention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
lily invention relates to an improvement in shaft coupling designed particularly for connectngc -l the vibrating spindl A and roll in a rolling inill, the object being to provide a connection which will permit of a tree wabbling movement of the roll or spindle without any lost motion between the parts, thereby avoiding all pounding incidental to lost motion, in starting and stopping the mill.
4 A further object is to provide a construction wherein the rocking and sl ling move ment [of the coupling members will be smooth and uniform.
A further object is to provide a coupling that can be produced more economically and take up less room both in the direction of the aXis of the shaft and at right angles thereto, than any flexible coupling now in use.
\Vith thi'sc. objects in view my invention consists in the parts and combii'iat ou of parts and in the details of construction as will be more fully explained and pointed out in the claims.

(3 and 7 are views in longitudinal section, Fig. 6 being ta ken through the jaws on one coupling member and Fig. 7 through the jaws on the! other member.

Each part to be coupled is provided with a coupling member 3, one of which has two oppositely located projecting jaws 4. and the other two similarly located jaws 5, the spaces between the jaws being slightly greater than the width of the jaws, so that when they are assembled, ample clearance will be provided for the vibrating or wahbli'ng mbvement of the parts.
