CABLE-CHAIN CONVEYER-CLEAT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 14, 1911.
Serial No. 642,669.
Application filed August 7, 1911.
To all whom "it may concern:
Be it known that I, ERNEST DEMAREST, a citizen of the United States, residing at Patterson, in the parish of St. Mary and State of Louisiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cable- Chain Conveyer-Cleats; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in cable chain cleats for conveyers and comprises a simple and efiicient device of this nature having various details of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described and then specifically defined in the appended claims.
I illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the application of my invention. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section through the device. Fig. 3 is a bottom plan view of one of the sections of the cleat, and Fig. 4 is a similar view of the other section.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A, and B designate two sections of the cleat, each of which has a flange D, the edges of which, when the sections are fastened together, are in contact with each other. Each section is provided with apertures B for the reception of rivets for holding the sections together. The section B is provided with a flange E which is T-shaped in cross section and is, also grooved as at F for the reception of a link H, one section of the link being adapt ed to rest in said groove while the opposite side is designed to be positioned adjacent to and in contact with the outer edge of the flange E. The section A is provided with a groove 0 for the reception of a link and said groove is adapted to fit over the flange E, as shown clearly in the sectional view of the drawings, thereby retaining the link in place.
What I claim to be new is 1. A cable chain cleat made up of two sections adapted to be riveted together, one of said cleats being grooved, the other section having a flange upon one side and a groove upon its opposite, the groove in one section adapted to fit over said flange and retain a link within the groove.
.2. A cable chain cleat made up of two sections, each of which is flanged, one section having a groove upon its inner face, a flange projecting from the inner face of the other section and adapted to engage said groove, the outer face of the section having said flange grooved for the reception of one side ERNEST DEMAREST.
