The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.

I; ROBERT V. IHILLIIjs, ot' Council Bluffs, in the county of Pottawatomie and State ot' Iowa, have in rented a Door-Catch, of which the following is a specification. I Y' The nature of my inveutiou consists in th e eon1 bination ot a rubber bumper. or pad placed in the een ter of a four-armed spring made of suitable size and shape to grasp the knob ot a door when opened..

I fasten transversely upon the wall, aga-inst which the door swings, two-pliable lsprings made of silver, brass, steei, or other 4p liahle material, of length and shape tol correspond with the door-knob, and so bent y and placed that theknob, as it swings around against the arms of the spring, will be caught and held vby vthem until it is desired to ciose the door.

The ends Ot' the spring are slightly bent Outward, so as to readily receive the .knob as it coines to the w'all.
