In the drawing, forming a portion of this specification and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the stamp, the different parts thereof being separated from each other and parts being shown in section for the purpose of clearness. Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the device.
The device shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing comprises a head 1 which may be of any suitable approved Well known construction and configuration, the same having formed therein a vertically threaded pas sage 2 for the reception of one end of the elastic connecting member 3 which connects the head with the handle or hand-grip 4. The handle 4 is provided with a passage 5 Specification of Letters Patent.

which is disposed in axial alinement with the passage 2 in the head and screwed thereinto is the opposite end of the connecting member 3. The member 3 is formed preferably of a single piece of springy Wire wound spirally the wound portions thereof being arranged against each other so that in effect such portions form a substantial screw-thread, whereby the spring can be readily attached to the handle and head respectively, without resorting to the use oil. cement or other permanent fastening means.
I claim:
A hand stamp comprising a head, a han dle therefor, the said head having a threaded passage therein, the handle having a threaded passage therein disposed in axial alinement with the first passage, and a con necting member comprising a spirally wound wire having its convolute portions engaged directly against each other and having the same equal diameter throughout to provide an effective screw-thread whereby the ends of the said member may be securely thread ed in the passages in the said head and handle respectively.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
