1' b all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES SWANN, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Gravesend, in the county of Kent, England, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in VacuumCleaning Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
'This invention relates to vacuum cleaning apparatus of the class in which the suction is produced by pumping water and has for its object to improve the efliciency of the suction and always to pump pure water.
According to this invention the suction efficiency is improved by pumping the water through a disk from which portions are r moved and at the center of which is a cone.
The periphery of the cone may, in order to still further divide up the passing water, be formed with cuts or projections which are splaycd outwardly.
Figure 1 is a diagram showing the apparatus as a whole. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the water distributing disk and cone and Fig. 3 is a section of the same. Fig. 4: is a sectional View taken on line 2-2 of Fig. 1, showing the location of the distributing nozzle.
In Fig. 1, 1 is a pump pumping water from the bottom of the tank 2 through a pipe 3 to the top of the same through a pipe 4 past an orifice and thus producing a suction in the pipe 5.
In Figs. 2 and 3, (Z is a disk cut away at c e and f is a cone provided with outwardly splayed cuts P.
The assemblage is placed within the pipe 4: near to the orifice at which the suction is produced and serves in an improved manner to divide the water into streams.
The form of the conical attachment 7 is a Specification of Letters Patent.

What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. The combination in an ejector for suction producing apparatus, of a pipe having a passage adjacent to a suction nozzle, with a disk provided with a series of openings around its central area, and a truncated conical attachment having an expanding followed by a contracting surface extending into the said passage so as to interposc its expanding surface opposite and immediately adjoining the disk openings, substantially as set forth.
2. In an injector for suction producing apparatus, the combination of a pipe having a passage adjacent to a suction nozzle, with a disk in the said passage provided with a series of segmental openings around its cent all area, a conical surface attached thereto of double truncated character, and splayed projections at intervals on the larger diameter of the conical surface located opposits the disk openings, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
