Be it lmownthat I, JOSEPH L. Kurven, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jackson, in the county of Jackson and State of ltlichignn,` have invented a new and useful Car-Replacer; and I dohereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such 'as will en-v it apthe present device only the rib has to be renewed, thereby lessening the expense.
In practical fields 1t may be found necessary to subject the details of construction to alterations, to which the patentee is entitled, provided the alterations fall within the scope of what is`clain1ed.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, l designates the rails while 2 denotes the ties, Whereas 3 and 4 denote the repleteing frogs. Each frog is hollowed out upon its underface, as shown at 5, and upon its upper face adjoining one of its sides (which is arranged at an angle to the rail an elonogvis inclinedupwardly from the ties and toward the upper surface of the tread of the rail,
so as to elevate the car wheels 'toward andupon the tread ofthe rail, the rib 6 acting to lguide the wheel toward the `rail. By means ofthis dove-tailed connection l2 an old supplemental rib 8 may be removed and a new one plaeed in position, thereby renewing the structure of the frog 3.
