Be it known that I, sfrvAN HELLI, a subject of the King of Austria-Hungary, residing at Elyria, in the county of Lorain and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Collapsible Bath-Tubs7 of which the following is a. specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

rThis invention relates to collapsible bath tubs, and the primary object of my invention is to provide a durable bath tub of simple construction that can be advantageously used by tourists and travelers.

Another object of this invention is to provide an inexpensive collapsible frame that can be easily set up to support a flexible bath tub or receptacle.

lith the above and other objects in view the invent-ion resides in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter specifically described and then claimed.

Reference will now be had to the drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a side elevation of a collapsible bath tub frame in accordance with this invention, sho-wing the same in a set up position, Fig. 2 is a similar view, showing the same partially collapsed, Fig. 3 is a similar view showing the same completely collapsed, Fig. 4 is an end view of the frame in a set up position, and Fig. 5 is a plan of a portion of the same.

A. collapsible bath tub frame in accordance with this invention comprises two upper U-shaped members 1 and 2 that have the confronting ends thereof connected by pivoted links 3. The members 1 and 2 are arranged above lower U-shaped members 4 and 5 and the sides of the member 4 are connected to the sides of the member 1 by foldable braces comprising sections 6 and 7. The sections 7 are pivotally co-nnected to the member 1, as at 8 and the sections 6 to the member 4, as at 9. rThe sections 6 and 7 of each brace are pivotally connected together, as at 10 and said sections are retained in longitudinal alinement or in a set up position by a strap 11 that is slidable upon said sections to engage the end of the section 6 and maintain the brace in a rigid position. The section 6 has an odset portion 12 to provide clearance for the strap 11 when the sections G and 7 are folded, as shown in Fig. 2.

The ends of the members 1 and 4 are connected by a foldable brace 13 similar to the one just described, and the sides and ends of the members 2 and 5 are connected by foldable braces 14 and 15 of the same construction.

rlthe inner ends of the member 4 have pivo-ted bars 16 that are retained in engagement with the ends of the member 5 by straps 17. The ends of the member 5 are recessed, as at 18 to pro-vide clearance for the straps 17 when the frame is collapsed, and the ends of the member 1 are also recessed, as at 19 for the same purpose, as shown in Fig. 3.

To fold the frame, the straps 11 of the foldable braces are shifted and the members 1 and 2 lowered upon the members 4 and 5, as shown in Fig. 2. r1`he straps 17 are then shifted and the members 4 and 5 folded into parallelism with the inner ends of said members extending between the ends of the members 1 and 2, held by the links 3. This position of the frame is shown in Fig. 3.

With the frame in a set up position a flexible bath tub or receptacle 20 can be snitably connected to the members 1 and 2. The tub or receptacle can be made of strong and durable canvas or any suitable waterproof material.

One embo-diment of the invention has been illustrated, but it is to be understood that the structural elements are susceptible to such variations and modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claims.

What I claim is 1. A collapsible bath tub frame comprising upper U-shaped members, links pivotally connected to the ends of said members, lower U-shaped members, foldable braces connect-ing the sides and ends of said members, bars pivotally connected to the ends of one of said lower members, and straps for connecting said bars to the other of said lower members.

2. A collapsible bath tub frame comprising upper U-slia-ped members, links pivotally connected to the ends of said members, lower U-slmped members, foldable braces connecting the sides and ends of said members, bai-s pivotzilly connected to the ends of one of said lower members, straps for connecting said bars to the other of said lower members, said foldable braces having pivoted sections, straps for maintaining said sections in alinement, and a flexible recep- 1o tacle adapted to be connected to said upper members.
