Be it known that we, CHARLES COLBY, and H. CHARLES YARD, of Benton Harbor, in the county'of Wushtenaw and'State of Michigan, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fruit Boxes; and we do hereby declare thatthe following is a thlhtclear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the'aeeompafiying drawings and-to the lettersofi ref erence marked thereon which form a part; of this specification.
The nature of our invention consists in the construction of a fruit-box from two pieces of veneer, one piece forming the four sides and the other piece formtug the bottom and top, the top being provided with atdownward, bent lip, which overlaps a portion of the piece that forms the top and bottom, and which projeots above the side of the box; thus protecting the fruit from the weight of the upper tier of boxes.
