This invention relates to washable head gear, and especially to hats and caps, and has for its objectto provide an article of this character which will permit the stifiening members to be readily withdrawn when the fabric, out of which the head covering is made, may be washed, and then the said stiffening members readily reinserted.
To these ends the invention consists in the novel details of construction and combinations of parts more .fully hereinafter disclosed and particularly pointed out in the claim.
Referring to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification in which like numerals designate like parts in all the views Figin-c 1 is a view of a cap made in accordance with my invent-ion; Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the parts shown in Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is an enlarged detail diagrammatic sectional view of a portion of the parts shown in Fig. 2.

the vizor of said cap, which is provided with the walls 3 and at secured around their edges at 5. to form an open mouth pocket 6, into which fits a stiffening member 7 such as a crescent shaped piece of leather, leatherboard or other material. The mouth 8, of the pocket- 6, is left open so that the stiftening member 7 can be readily withdrawn or inserted at will.
9 and 10 represent fastening members by which the vizor 2 may be secured to the crown portion of the cap, when desired, in
the usual manner.
It is obvious that those skilled 'in, the art may vary the arrangement of parts and-the details of construction without departing from the spirit of my invention, and therefore I do not wish to be limited to the above disclosure except as may be required by the claims.
What I claim is A cap provided with a vizor comprisin lower wall stitched across its top directly to the outer wall of the cap, and an upper wall secured along the edges of said lower wall and terminating at the junction of said outer and lower walls to provide an openmouth pocket for the ready insertion and removal of a stiffening member.
