To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SVANTE ADOLF PET- TERSON, citizen ofthe United States, residing at Eureka, in county of Greenwood and State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tongue-Sup- I ports, of which the following is a specification. I

My invention'relates to an improvement 1n tonguesupports, and more partlcularly, for the tongue or pole of mowing machines,

The support has free movementwith respect to the tongue, so that in case of its coming in contact with an obstruction, itcan be swung rearwardly against the tension of'the s ring 7 9, but after passing over the obstruction it will be drawn back to its normal or vertical position, due to the tension of the spring 9. In instances where the support would strike obstructions, which wouldcause it to swing laterally, the spring 8 would be placed under '"greater tension, and after the obstruction had been passed, the spring would draw the bar or support to its normal position against the shoulder a.
