CORE FOR MAKING CONCRETE CUL'VEETS.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, JOHN T. KEi rrr, a citizen of the United States, residing at Goehner, in the county of Seward and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cores for Making Concrete Culverts; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to lnake and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvementsin forms for making culverts having various spans and comprises a simple and efficient device of this nature having various details of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claims.
I illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a vertical longitudinal section through one of the forms and through the web about the form, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the inner face of a web section adapted to rest upon the form.
,teference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates a beam having apertures B formed therein for the reception of the bolts (3 which are adapted to be passed through apertures C in the horizontal bottom portion of the semi-circular form E which supports the web sections F. Suitable nuts I are mounted upon the threaded ends of said bolts, affording means whereby the movement of the form in one direction may be limited. Said bottom portion of the form E is provided with apertures H for the reception of the adjusting screws K, suitable plates N being fastened to said bottom portion and pro vided with interiorly threaded openings for the reception of said screws. Abutment plates 0 are fastened to the upper face of the beam A and against which said screws are adapted to bear.

Plates J are fastened to the under face of the beam A and each plate terminates in a right angled end J which is adapted to engage the grooves S formed in the upper edges of the ribs S which are secured to the lower edges of the web sections T. It will be noted that the covering to the forms is made up of a plurality of web sections, the lowermost of which, designated by letter 8*, has the hooks S which engage holes G formed in the web section G.
In adjusting the form in place, the hooks at the ends of said plates are placed in the grooves in the ribs which are fastened to the lower edges of the web sections 8*, thus serving as a means for holding the parts together until the web sections are adjusted in place and tightened. It will be noted that arches of various sections may be formed by varying the size of the form and the number of web sections to corre spond therewith, the sections being connected together as shown. By the provision of the adjusting screws, the latter may be turned in order to force the semi-cylindrical section tightly against the web covering, the bolts which are passed through the beam and the bottom portion of the form serving as a convenience in'handling and erecting the apparatus, holding the parts in proper position for the adjustment of the screws to regulate the form.
What I claim to be new is 1. A form for making culverts, etc'., comprising a beam, a form adjustably mounted thereon, a web covering said form, and projections at the ends of said beam to interlock with the lower portion of the web, as set forth.
2. A form for making culverts, etc., comprising a beam, a form, adjusting screws passing through apertures in the lower portion of the latter and engaging said beam, bolts passing through the form and beam, a web covering about the form, and projections upon the beam. adapted to interlock with ribs upon the Web, as set forth.
3. A form for making culverts, etc, comprising a beam, a form adjustably mounted thereon, a web covering about the form and provided with grooved ribs at the lower edges thereof, plates secured to said beam and having angled ends engaging the means secured to said beams and engaging grooved ribs, as set forth. said grooved ribs, as set forth.
