Be it. known that I, EARL (l. VVA'IRUUS, e citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the countj of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented. 21 certain new and useful Supporting Device forWater-Closets, of which the following is n description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

My invention has for its object the provision of a simple and etlicient device for suppoiting and securing in position WtLtQl" closets; of the type which have u re-.irwurd discharge through the wall to the soil pipe behind. the some, and are supported from said pipe and huve no support upon the floor.

The novelty of the invention will be hereineftcr more fully set forth and particulurly pointed out in my claims.

The provision of the two nuts Y and Z on the bolt 0, on opposite sides of the lug X, not only permits the parts to ,be locked in position, but also .ifumishesa means for levelin and truing the closet if It should not originally rest in exactly true position.

The operation of mounting and securing the closet, with the modified construction of my novel device shown in Figs. 7, 8 and 9, is substantially the same as that above described excepting in respect to the lower bolt 0, which latter, in the'co'nstruction of Figs. 7, Bend 9, has to be secured to the flange E of the hub E, (by screwing its upper rear end into the internally threaded up the boss. w provided for it thereon,) after the closet has been broughtginto position against or adjacent the wall, with the upper. bolts N, N-projecting forward through the holes L,'L'in its base and their frontends extend mg through the holes in the bracket P.- P, this necessity being due to the fact that-in this construction the bolt 0 projects rigidly;

This is for the purpose of making the hub lid-Laud its flange E reversible, so that if, in screwing the hub upon the nipple I), it should not be tight thereon when the flange has been brought into proper position for one of its sets of socketsor internally threaded bosses to receive the bolts N, N and 0, it may be given another half turn.

A supporting device for water-closets of the class described, comprising a threaded hub adapted to have a screw connection with and be supported by the soil-pipe, and provided with :t peripheral flm'ige, o. puir of combined brecketsand sect-post bolts with mean for securing them to the closet, it pair of bolts and nuts for connecting said brackets with said flange on opposite sides of the hub, and a third bolt and not for connecting the bottom of the closet with the lower side of said flange; substentiully as described.

In the herein described supporting device for weterclosets, comprising the threaded hub E having the peripheral flange l3 and adopted to be connected with and supported by the soil-pipe, the brackets P P and bolts Q Q formed integral with each other end the seat-post nuts 3 S for securing them to the seatshelf of the closet, the bolts N N and nuts T T for connecting the brookets I P Withthe flange E of the hub E, and the bolt 0 Midi-nut Z for connecting the bottom of. the flange E with the'bottom of the closet:fisubstentielly as described.

4. The herein described supporting dovice for water-closets comprising the threaded hub E having the peripheral flange E provided with the sockets U U iind W, the combined brackets and bolts- P 1 and (Q, Q, and the soot-post nuts 8 S for securing them to the scat-shelf of the closet, the bolts N N engaged at their rear ends with the sockets U U and connected at their front ends with the brackets l? l by the nuts T T, and the bolt 0 engaged at its upper rear end with the socket W and provided at its lower forward end with the nut Z lior connecting it with the bottom of the closet; substuntielly described.

The herein described supporting device :fm' wutcr-closcts, comprising the threaded hub E having; the flange E provided with the two sets of sockets U U, W, and U U, WV, such du )licotc sets of sockets permitting the flanged liub to be used in reversed positions, the bolts N N adopted to be engaged at their rear ends with either the sockets U U or the sockets U U and provided at their front ends withn'icens for securing them to the closet, and the bolt 0 adapted to be secured at its upper rear end to either the socket 'W or the socket N and provided at its lower forward end with IllQ-ltl'lS for connecting it to the bottom of the closet; substantielly as described.
