Спосіб прогнозування зрощення перелому включає клінічний огляд, рентгенографію. В сироватці крові хворого проводять визначення поліморфізму гена eNOS Т 786, рівнів СРП, ІЛ-6, ГАГ і при гетерозиготному носійстві 786-ТС, рівнях СРП 1,7-5,2 мг/л, ІЛ-6 3,3-8,8 нг/л, ГАГ 24-26 мкмоль/л прогнозують зрощення перелому.
