Abstract

Drive of a circular knitting machine comprises a motor and a vertical drive shaft connected to each other via a V-belt and gear transmissions. At that the toothed wheel of the toothed gear is mounted on a vertical drive shaft. Additionally it is equipped with a safety clutch, which has two coupling halves and the element that is destroyed in the event of emergencies. At that the coupling halves are rigidly interconnected by the element that breaks in case of emergency, one of coupling halves is rigidly connected to the vertical drive shaft, and the second coupling half is coupled with the toothed wheel of the toothed gear.
