A method for predicting fracture nonunion comprises a clinical examination, roentgenography, evaluation of MTHFR C677T, eNOS T786C genes polymorphism and determination of free oxyproline level. In homozygous carriers of 677-CT T-allele and 786-SS C-allele with free oxyproline level of 12-14 mcmol/ml, the nonunion of bone fracture may be predicted.
