Abstract

A method of enhancing a pipe section under pressure is to install around a predetermined portion of the tube a closed, the sleeve-shell which comprises bonded together forming the sleeve technological elements with the creation of annular cavities near the shell end faces formed by the pipe surface and the inner surfaces of technological elements of the sleeve followed by sealing the ends of the sleeve, heating the sleeve and filling the resulting formed under-sleeve space with molten metal or alloy that is supplied at a predetermined pressure, followed by sleeve cooling. Before that at both sides of the defective area split rings are set, one on each side, the parts of the rings at installation are pressed onto the pipe and fixed, and then on the rings parts of the shell are mounted symmetrically, with length not larger than the distance between outer ends of the split rings, and then parts of the shell are pressed to the rings and bonded to each other, the ends of the shell are sealed with a heat-resistant sleeve and shell at side ends is heated to a temperature which exceeds the additional metal or alloy melting point, whereupon the cavities at both sides of the shell formed with ring, wall of the pipe, sleeve and additional sleeve are filled through technological openings with molten additional metal or alloy, then the temperature of the shell ends is lowered, and immediately before filling the under-sleeve space with basic molten metal or alloy entire sleeve is heated to a temperature higher than basic metal or alloy melting point but below the melting temperature of the additional metal or alloy.
