Abstract
A device for cooling a metal strip (1) is disclosed, comprising at least two opposing nozzle regions facing the metal strip (1) continuously conveyed in the longitudinal direction thereof, with nozzles directed at the corresponding strip surface connected to collector boxes (3) for a cooling gas with flow channels (5) provided between the nozzles for escape of the cooling gas deflected from the strip surface from the nozzle. According to the invention, advantageous cooling conditions are achieved, by a grouped arrangement of nozzles in parallel adjacent nozzle strips (4) with a lateral separation from each other with nozzle openings (7) distributed over the length of the nozzle strips (4) directed at the corresponding strip surface and connected to gas channels (6) which are connected to the collector boxes (3) and the flow channels (5) for escape of the cooling gas flows are provided between the nozzle strips (4) running perpendicular to the collector boxes (3).
