Abstract
Iron and steel works comprises an electric-furnace melting shop located on the leveled area, which houses an electric arc furnace, a "ladle-furnace" installation, a continuous casting machine (CCM) and gas removing and gas cleaning systems, a rolling mill shop, in which there are mounted: a gas heating furnace with a roller hearth and a rolling mill, a roll grinding shop, a warehouse for acceptance, storage and primary processing of scrap, a shop of complex processing scrap, a raw-material bay, a transportation system of charge materials to the electric-furnace melting shop, a warehouse of ferroalloys, a shop for calcining limestone, a high-voltage substation, a complex of reverse cycle of water system, a warehouse of finished products, aspiration systems and a transport system. The Iron and steel works also comprises the first and second process lines, at the end of which a continuous sheet rolling mill is located, and each of process lines comprises a section for complex processing scrap, a raw-material bay for receiving and storage of scrap metal, which comprises a railway track and a road entrance to deliver scrap, an arc steel furnace, a two-position "ladle-furnace" installation, a thin slab continuous casting machine and a gas heating furnace with a roller hearth as a kinematic and technological link between the thin slab CCM and continuous sheet mill. The gas heating furnace with roller hearth, which is mounted on the second process line, is provided with a rotary shuttle system at the end of the furnace to allow the delivery of slabs from the second process line into the first process line, which is connected to the continuous sheet rolling mill, for combining CCM of both process lines and continuous sheet rolling mill in a single casting-rolling unit for production of a continuous strip. The arc melting shop is equipped with a smelting bay, a dispenser bay and a CCM bay, which are arranged in parallel to each other along the longitudinal side of the building of electric steelmaking shop, the continuous sheet rolling mill is situated in the rolling mill building adjacent by its end to the long side of the building of the electric-furnace melting shop from the side of the CCM. Roll-grinding shop is located in a separate building, which is connected with the rolling one by a track for a transfer truck, and the raw-material bays of both process lines are located on either side of the longitudinal axis of the warehouse of ferroalloys and each raw-material bay is connected to the melting bay of the electric-furnace melting shop by two rail tracks located under cover for self-propelled scrap transfercars made with remote control. The raw-material bays and warehouse of ferroalloys are separated from the electric-furnace melting shop by a road for removal of slag by slag carriages.
