Abstract

The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy and concerns a method for high-speed electro-thermal treatment of rails in linearly elastic stress state. The rails are heated at a speed of 1-50 °C/c to 780-, maintained 10-30 c, a railhead is cooled to 400-, whereupon the rails are cooled through all the cross-section to the temperature not higher . Then they are heated on the tempering to the temperature of 400-, hold not more than 200 c and cooled. A method provides the straightness of rails, increasing of resistance of contact tired destructions and extends the service life of the rails.
