A method for the production of lump lime includes briquetting of chalk wastes and their annealing, at that the chalk wastes are auxiliary grinded to the fraction with the size not more than 5-, binding agent is introduced and they are briquetted under the pressure of 50-90 MPa. The invention allows to increase the briquettes strength to the level providing an effective annealing.
