Abstract

A method for retention consists in the use of flexible splint attached onto the teeth from canine to canine for correcting overcrowding of frontal teeth without teeth extraction or from the second premolar to the second premolar when the first premolars are extracted, or from the first premolar to the first premolar when the second premolars are extracted, or for correcting dysocclusion of the frontal teeth. The method is different in that the capron thread pre-soaked in photopolymer composite is used as material as a splint. The splint is laid down onto dentition. Each tooth is covered with the splint allowing for its further fixation in the interproximal contacts. Then photopolymerization follows for the final splint fixation in the oral cavity.
