Abstract
A reactor for the production of carbon black comprises a metal housing which inner surface is lined with refractory material, and a combustion chamber equipped with means for fuel and air supply, a reaction chamber equipped with feed nozzles and a quenching chamber equipped with nozzles for water supply, those are arranged coaxially in tandem. The reaction chamber is multistage and comprises at least two cylinder sections with diameters reducing in direction from the reaction chamber towards the quenching chamber. The ratio of larger diameter dand smaller diameter dof mentioned sections of the reaction chamber makes 1.1-1.3, and ratio of lengths thereof land lrelative to reaction chamber length L makes 0.5-0.6 and 0.45-0.65, correspondingly.
