Кури у силу прояву пошукового і харчового рефлексів, намагаючись дістати і « склювати корм, починають гребти лапами по скосах 4 та гвинтоподібним валикам - кормоприманкам 5. Останні захоплюють корм із піддонів б і подають його наверх. Після поїдання корму з гвинтоподібних валиків - кормоприманок кури змушені знову робити вищеописані дії, що приводить до стирання кігтів. Наявність в абразивній площадці З скосів 4 дозволяє птахам добре зачіпати кігтями гвинтоподібні валики - кормоприманки 5, о 30 прокручувати їх і діставати корм. Таким чином одночасно досягається ефективне сточування кігтів і ю реалізуються спадкові властивості птаха - загребні рухи.The device is used as follows. In this way, at the same time, effective sharpening of claws is achieved and the hereditary properties of the bird - raking movements - are realized.
Перевага пропонованого пристрою полягає в тім що воно дозволяє більш ефективно сточувати кігті і тим ее, самим поліпшити умови для стояння і пересування птаха і дає можливість їй значно розширити діапазон рухової ою активності за рахунок здійснення загребних рухів. У підсумку знижується захворювання кінцівок (на З - 590) і 3о зменшується вибракування птаха (на 4 - 695). Крім того зменшуються втрати кормів від розсипання (на 1 - 290).
