Abstract
The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy. A method of casting mill rolls of iron with flake graphite includes primary modifying iron with a mechanical mixture of complex modifier, based on rare earth elements, and lanthanum carbide in the ratio 10:1 in a ladle at a rate of the mixture in an amount of 0.55-0.77 % by weight of metal, and secondary modification by the introduction of ferrosilicon in a flow at a flow rate of 0.2-0.4 wt. %. The invention improves the wear resistance of the rolls by 1.8 times.
